The University of Queensland was established in 1909 through a act of State Parliament, it was the first university in the state and was officially founded on April 16, 1910, with the gazettal of appointments to the first UQ Senate. Teaching started in 1911 in the Old Government House in George Street, Brisbane, Australia. This university is famous for its Teaching and learning excellence and has won more Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) than any other university in the country.
The University of Queensland is providing scholarships worth $10,000 to international undergraduate and Master’s students in coursework programs in Science.
There are three categories of Academic Scholarship on offer by UQ for international students:
UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships: Awarded before Christmas each year to applicants who achieve a minimum ATAR of 99.90 or equivalent.
UQ Excellence Scholarships:OP 1 (or equivalent) applicants who have demonstrated outstanding academic, leadership, and significant community service achievements during years 11-12.
Science International Scholarships: High-achieving students (OP 1-3) who have demonstrated significant academic, leadership and community service will be considered.
University of Queensland (UQ) Scholarships Eligibility criteria:
Applicant must be an Australian Permanent Resident, New Zealand citizen, or international student who are completing or has completed Years 11 and 12 in Australia
For UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships, students must achieve a minimum ATAR of 99.90 or equivalent
For UQ Excellence Scholarships applicants must have demonstrated outstanding academic, leadership, and significant community service achievements.
For Science International Scholarships students must have high academic achievements
The applicant has NOT completed any previous tertiary study other than that undertaken as part of Year 11-12 studies
Applicant applied for a tertiary place through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC)
Only IELTS and PTE are two English language competence exams that the University of Queensland will accept
Applicant must enroll as a full-time student in an undergraduate program at The University of Queensland
